Youth Leadership Development
From college preparation to public speaking, SACSS is here to support our youth with building the skills they need.
Youth are the future of our community, and we at SACSS work to make sure they are supported through the challenges of academic and social life.
Become a Youth Leader
- Our Summer Youth Leadership program runs from July to September, when school is out for the summer. It is open to middle and high school students (age 13-17) who are interested in an engaging course that focuses on topics like communication skills, creative writing, community engagement, and college readiness. All participants receive certificates upon completion!
- Volunteer Program: At SACSS, our volunteers are essential to our ability to provide quality services to our community members. Volunteers support our weekly food pantry by helping to organize and distribute fresh bags of groceries to families in need. Some volunteers make phone calls, support adult students to develop English and computer literacy skills, or provide support with administrative work, health and community outreach or civic engagement. When you volunteer at SACSS, you’re helping to make a difference.
- Internship at SACSS There are several internship opportunities in varied programs at SACSS which help earn credit towards your college education and help advance your skillset working in a community-based organization.
