SACSS Seniors Enjoy Memorable Trip to Untermyer Gardens

A little rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of our SACSS senior community, who embarked on a memorable trip to Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers.

The Untermyer Gardens, with its breathtaking landscapes and serene ambiance, provided the perfect setting for our seniors to immerse themselves in nature’s beauty. From the vibrant colors of the blooming flowers to the tranquil sound of flowing water, the gardens offered a sensory experience that was truly uplifting for everyone.

Following the garden tour, the group savored a delightful lunch at a nearby Italian restaurant. One senior fondly recalled how the outing evoked memories of the “good old days” when she and her late spouse, a lover of Italian cuisine, would often dine at similar restaurants.

For many seniors, feelings of isolation can be all too common. Outings like the one to Untermyer Gardens provide a unique opportunity to bond with peers, share stories, and, most importantly, create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
