Mental Health

SACSS’ mental health program focuses both on emotional and physical well-being. We understand that mental health challenges do not exist in a vacuum and are often exacerbated by social, economic factors. Through a comprehensive case management based approach our social workers connect clients to resources and provide them individual counseling to enhance their overall well-being.

Our clinical counseling programs are provided in a community-based setting that is warm and welcoming. We provide individual and group counseling in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, and Malayalam, languages ensuring that our services are accessible to all.

In October 2023, we launched our Wednesdays for Women program, which focuses primarily on women’s mental and physical well-being. This program provides women with a space to participate in activities that promote physical exercise and emotional well-being such as yoga, aerobics, mindful art and also participate in a psycho-educational support group.

For clients with complex mental health conditions, SACSS collaborates with their medical healthcare providers to provide additional support. We also raise awareness about mental health and in particular, combat the stigma and fear around accessing mental health services. We believe that everyone – regardless of their immigration status or financial situation – has the right to culturally competent and affordable mental health care.
