“Medicare was deducting $170 every month from my Social Security. I called SSA and they told me that I have to pay this amount to keep my Medicare Part B. I could not afford $170 taken out of my Social security benefit every month. I was told by a friend about SACSS. I came here and was helped to apply for the Medicare Savings Program. Within a month I got approved for the benefit, and got reimbursed for the money that was taken out of my social.”

“My daughter had a panic attack at her school. She was rushed to a local hospital. Few days later I received a bill, to my shock it was more than $2000 for the emergency transportation services. I met a Community Health Advocate (CHA) from SACSS at a Faith based center, he helped me with the bill. Spoke to my daughter’s insurance, the ambulance services and got the bill covered. I was amazed at how quickly SACSS’ CHA resolved the issue. We are blessed to have SACSS in our community.”

“We were having a difficult time with USCIS, but at SACSS' Legal Clinic we were able to find someone that speaks Mandarin and they helped us file for an extension to gather our papers. We are very thankful for the legal clinic for simplifying everything for us.”

"My case manager keeps me informed of all the latest benefits that I can get access to. I feel like they are always looking out for me. I was struggling to pay my rent but she helped me apply for ERAP and put together all the documents I needed. The day I received approval for my ERAP, I was the happiest person. It was one less thing for me to worry about."
