Guru Krupa Foundation Supports SACSS in Providing Critical Food Relief

Every week, hundreds of clients visit our food pantry to bring home nourishment and essential resources for their families. However, some are unable to come in person due to health or mobility challenges. SACSS’ home grocery delivery program bridges this gap, ensuring that those in need receive vital support.

With the generous support of the Guru Krupa Foundation, SACSS delivers fresh, healthy groceries to over 180 seniors and individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities in underserved communities across New York. Their contribution ensures access to culturally relevant, nutritious food—especially crucial during the harsh winter months.

The program has been life-changing for clients like Mr. A.M., a 42-year-old resident of South Richmond Hill, Queens. He lives with his wife and five children, including a newborn. The family immigrated from Bangladesh to the United States in 2019 through family-sponsored immigration but has no immediate relatives in New York. Grocery delivery services became essential for them, providing not only food assistance but also baby necessities such as diapers, wipes, formula, and a winter jacket.

Year after year, their generosity sustains this vital program, and we are honored to call them a partner in this mission. We celebrate their well-deserved recognition and remain deeply grateful for their commitment to serving those in need.
