It was an enlightening experience to have Dr. Naveen Narahari, a board-certified gastroenterologist, lead an insightful conversation with our seniors about taking care of their gut health and why it’s crucial to seek medical advice if they’re experiencing any concerning symptoms.

Dr. Narahari explained the anatomy and functions of the gastrointestinal tract, a series of hollow organs that enable us to ingest, digest, absorb, and expel food. Our seniors also learned about what causes constipation, bloating, and diarrhea and how to treat it.

Additionally, Dr. Narahari shed light on the importance of screening for colon cancer, a crucial topic for maintaining overall health in our golden years. He also emphasized the power of a healthy diet, such as incorporating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and protein into daily meals for a happy gut.
