Announcing SACSS’ Newest Board of Directors Members: Hena Doba and Mamta Prakash
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest board members, news anchor Hena Doba and finance specialist Mamta Prakash! We are lucky to have such trailblazers in their respective industries join us to help SACSS better service the immigrant community in Queens. Even better, though Doba and Prakash are new board members, they are by no means new to SACSS.
Formerly a National Correspondent for CBS News in New York, Hena Doba is currently an anchor for Cheddar News, a news network that is at the cutting edge of digital news, media, and entertainment. The first Pakistani news anchor in the country, Doba has been a driving force at the forefront of diversified and inclusive representation in national news and reporting. Most recently, Doba was the co-emcee of our first in-person gala since the pandemic began. Her experience as a leader in digital media and entertainment — and as a Queens native — makes her invaluable to pushing SACSS to stay on the frontlines of community care and support.
Mamta Prakash is a non-profits finance specialist who started at the South Asian Youth Action as the Director of Finance & Ops before going to Fiscal Management Associates as a Senior Consultant, advising nonprofits about finance and operations, including doing work with SACSS! Currently, she works with One for Democracy as their Director of Finance and Operations. Previous to working with a focus on non-profits, Prakash was a partner at an art gallery focused on contemporary South Asian art and architecture. In addition to her own experience as an immigrant, Prakash’s expertise in finance and nonprofits makes her invaluable to helping stretch SACSS’s finances to make a greater impact.
