SACSS is delighted to announce that Chef Chintan Pandya and restaurateur Roni Mazumdar of Unapologetic Foods will be presented with the SACSS’ INNOVATOR IN #FOODYOUWANT AWARD at the SACSS 2022 Gala “Celebrating Together, Striving Forward!” This award honors Unapologetic Foods’ dedication to showcasing food that presents “a real voice for Indian cuisine, a voice that is authentic and represents the culture.”
Pandya and Mazumdar of Unapologetic Foods own and operate some of the hottest restaurants and fast casuals in New York City, including Adda Indian Canteen, Dhamaka, Semma, Rowdy Rooster, and more. Their innovative approach to Indian cuisine and their restaurants have been met with resounding success in the culinary world and featured in Food & Wine Magazine’s Ten Best New Restaurants, Eater’s National Best New Restaurants, Bon Appetit Top 50 Best New Restaurants, and New York Times Best 50 Restaurants in the Country. Dhamaka was nominated for James Beard Foundation Awards, “Best New Restaurant of 2021,” the first time in James Beard award history that an Indian restaurant has been nominated in this category, and Chintan Pandya won as “Best Chef New York State.”
