SACSS Contributes to Report
In a year when AAPI communities have faced so much violence, SACSS is pleased that our work continues to expand to meet the needs of all community members. We are one. At the same time, “We are anything but homogeneous,” in the words of NYC Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi, at the unveiling of “Health of Asians and Pacific Islanders in New York City,” a report detailing the health of Asian and Pacific Islander New Yorkers, differentiated by ancestry.
The report highlights differences between communities (which include people from 48 countries) that are all placed under the AAPI umbrella, and the need to better understand and address the needs of each community. SACSS was pleased to be one of 21 partners who contributed to the report.
